Cheaper iPhone Could Expand Apple's Market By 6x

A cheaper iPhone could expand Apple's addressable mobile phone market by 6x, according to Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi .

Forbes reports that Sacconaghi's analysis suggests the lower priced phone could result in 2.5x the revenue and allow Apple to capture 5% of the expanded 2011 market. He calculates that Apple would get an annual profit boost of $4.50 a share.

"Beyond helping address a potential saturation challenge, we believe that the possible introduction of a lower-priced iPhone is strategically important for Apple, and we are surprised the company hasn't introduced a lower priced offering previously," he writes in a research note. "We believe that Apple’s ultimate intention is to be the dominant smartphone vendor globally, and that the company has market share aspirations that are akin to its iPod business (rather that its Mac business, where it faces a sticky Wintel platform.) Given these aspirations, we are surprised that Apple hasn't moved sooner to introduce a lower priced offering that could help secure a more dominant installed base. After all, the smart phone world is a platform war, where first mover advantage and scale matter."

el iphone usa el sistema estrella por así decirlo de una red.

que cuando una parte deja de funcionar la ANULA pero el teléfono sigue funcionando con el resto de opciones,

en esta caso te recomiendo que llames al GEONEO 24712414 de parte de UDYN, y aquel te guiara mas con este proceso .

iPhone Nano Concept Uses a Squeeze to Close Apps [Video]
Max Rudberg, a developer who runs Max Themes, suggests the iPhone nano might use squeeze action in place of the home button.

If a phone were to be designed with an edge-to-edge screen, it would lack a hardware home button on the front. Therefore it would require a new way to go to the Home screen. Advanced gestures often requires two hands, which is not optimal for such a frequently used feature.

A more intuitive way could be to equip the phone with a pressure-sensitive body. The phone could then be squeezed and the current app would shrink and return the user to the Home screen.

This could be a real wow effect. Seeing how the phone reacts to your grip and then having the app vanish in the palm of your hand.

To avoid 'squeeze to go Home' from happening by accident, a visual cue could show that pressure is being applied. In this concept, the app begins to shrink to reflect the pressure that is being applied. When the pressure goes over a defined threshold, the user is returned to the Home screen.

The strength of a users grip will of course vary. Therefore, a setting for how much pressure that’s needed before an app is exited could be a good idea.

Apple to Reveal iOS 5 Alongside iPad 2 at March 2nd Event?

Apple will reportedly reveal iOS 5 alongside a new A5 iPad 2 with 512MB of RAM at its March 2nd event, according to Engadget sources.

The iPad 2 won't get that SD card slot and Retina Display as previously rumored due to "engineering issues", say sources that have been "dead right" in the past.

That SD card slot and higher resolution display won't make it into the new model (the latter we'd been hearing rumblings about for a little while). What's the cause of the switch? Well our sources weren't crystal clear on the exact reasons, but the gist of what was explained to us centered around vague "engineering issues" which may have forced some changes at the eleventh hour.

Engadget reports that the iPad 2 will be thinner, feature the more powerful A5 CPU, 512MB of RAM, and a camera or two.

It's also almost guaranteed that we'll see the next version of iOS (number 5 in all likelihood, along with its SDK for devs), and an expansion of Apple's cloud services (that part is a little... foggy right now).

Apple has reportedly finalized iOS 4.3 and may even release it at the iPad event on March 2nd, according to a BGR report.

One of our Apple sources has just informed us that it looks like Apple has finalized the code for its upcoming iOS 4.3 release. The build, we’re told, is 8F190 for those keeping track. Maybe we’ll see this release unify the Verizon iPhone OS-wise as well? We’ll probably see this in the wild next week if we had to bet…
