With the popularity of Donald Long’s Radial Revolution events, it’s no wonder there are more cars than we can keep track of. One standout this past February was Isaac Preston’s green Mustang. He was also tuning the car this weekend with a new engine combination. Isaac stood out Thursday night after a very quick bumper-scraping wheel stand and subsequent smash down landing, causing over $1,000 in damage.

Michael McKeehan, Dave and Conway Brown have been running together since high school. Then Ricky Young met them while working on a friend’s car at their home fabrication shop. One thing led to another, and they joined forces on this clean ride with sponsor help from Bumpus Performance in Bowling Green, Kentucky. A BTE Transmission handles the gear changes, while the Induction Solutions nitrous system was set up by Isaac Preston at Next Motorsports. Front exit headers were fabricated by Top End Fabrications in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The fuel cell, mid and engine plate were done by Wes More at Sugar Creek Fabrications.

After the wheelstand the team, assessed the damage back in the pits and started working to repair the car. The caster/camber plates were bent, the strut towers sustained moderate damage, while the rack and pinion steering and one wheel were also dinged up. Luckily, the rain allowed them to get the Mustang fixed up enough to race on Sunday. The Lights Out IV event marked their first time out with the new engine as well as first time on radials. Isaac qualified 29th with a 5.494 at 111 mph, but he fell to Sean Ashe in round one, running a 5.14 at 142 mphto Ashe’s 4.58 at 144 mph.
